Walkbot Lower-Limb Robotic Rehabilitation installed in Zhongshan Hospital, Shuguang Hospital, Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital with remote installation support.
Walkbot Lower-Limb Robotic Rehabilitation have successfully installed three units of Walkbot at major hospitals in Shanghai, China with real-time remote support.
Walkbot received a total of three orders, one each from Zhongshan hospital and Shanghai tenth people’s hospital and Shuguang hospital in China. However, as the Covid-19 started to spread worldwide, the cross-country movement began to be restricted when Walkbot was supposed to be installed. Besides, since Walkbot is the sensitive high-tech robotic device, the electrical and electronics and mechanical engineers of Walkbot have visited the installation site in person and installed Walkbot so far. Therefore, the situation in which the business trips are restricted became a crisis. To cope with this situation and meet the expected installation date, walkbot prepared for the remote installation and training. As a result, the installation and training of Walkbot has been successfully completed through real-time remote Walkbot support for two and a half days per unit without the travel of Walkbot engineers.
There were two main points behind the success of
the remote installation of Walkbot. First, the remote management skills of
Walkbot. Walkbot have been providing the pre-diagnosis and real-time support
services for Walkbots installed around the world through remote diagnosis
service since long ago. In other words, remote support was already familiar to
Walkbot. In addition, Walkbot made the detailed installation guide video that
is easy to understand and follow for engineers who are installing Walkbot for
the first time. The final version of the video came out after a vast number of
modifications until the non-engineer staffs of Walkbot succeeded in installing
Walkbot with the guide video by themselves. Second, the engineers from our
Chinese partner company who have previously completed Walkbot engineer
training. The three engineers, trained about Walkbot system at Walkbot
Korea headquarter in 2019, participated in this remote installation. Their
understanding of Walkbot system made the process easier and made great job.
Walkbot in Zhongshan Hospital, Shuguang Hospital, Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital
The three hospitals where Walkbots are installed
this time, are recognized comprehensive hospitals in China and Walkbot is going
to provide the advanced robotic walking training as well as provide the hope of
re-walking to many patients with walking disorders. Zhongshan Hospital is
one of the first top tertiary hospital in Shanghai, and is a comprehensive
teaching hospital affiliated to Fudan University. Shuguang Hospital,
affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, is a
100-year-old Grade-A comprehensive Chinese medicine hospital, and it is one of
the top ten comprehensive hospitals in Shanghai. Lastly, Shanghai Tenth
People's Hospital, affiliated to Tongji University, was established in 1910
and become one of first “the upper first class” comprehensive hospitals of
Ministry of Health and was transferred to Shanghai Municipal Government in
2004.
Through this installation, the remote service experience and the engineer training proved to be a powerful capability of the Walkbot to solve the various problems that may arise in times of crisis such as Covid-19. Walkbot will continue to make great efforts to provide customer convenience services that incorporate cutting-edge technology.
