Gwacheon City announced on the 17th that it will lead the rehabilitation service project through advanced gait rehabilitation robot (hereinafter referred to as walkbot) as part of the project to strengthen the function of the disabled.
Walkbot(워크봇) is a state-of-the-art rehabilitation robot that helps people with disabilities who have difficulty walking due to lack of muscle strength, such as cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, Parkinson’s disease, spinal nerve damage, and multiple sclerosis.
Customized rehabilitation training through walkbot is expected to have a positive effect on improving walking skills, increasing muscle strength, promoting metabolic activation, and reducing depression of the disabled.WALKBOT Robot Assisted Gait Training System
Gwacheon City will start recruiting users for the disabled from the 21st of this month through the Gwacheon city welfare center, and will start providing services from March.
Gwacheon Mayor Kim Jong-cheon said, “The introduction of Walkbot, lower limb rehabilitation robot, will be the first step in signaling the start of high-tech welfare services for the disabled,” adding, “I hope customized walking training will help improve the quality of life for the disabled.”
